Woyww#179 - Disembodied Monkey

Well here we are again. WEDNESDAY. WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKDESK, WEDNESDAY? As dreamt up by the lovely Julia @ Stamping Ground.

I took the photo of my desk this morning when the light was lovely. I knew I wouldn't be up there again so I can guarantee my desk is exactly the same right now.

Lime Monkey, this week behaving himself, lovely wool, two little sock monkeys waiting for their new home, a lovely cupcake card I got for my birthday and can't bear to part with yet. The cushion is still there, not touching it yet.

Sewing machine. I have done a few bits on it but nothing much worth showing yet. A new cowl (Christmas present). my ideas and pattern book. It started off as a Smash Book but then it turned into a place where I write ideas and I keep adding new patterns in there.

Lots of Christmas Bunting, cut out, ready to sew together. Green felt and cutout circles ready to add to the Christmas Trees I have been crocheting and embellishing. Will show once finished. A small box lid with bells, buttons and beads for embellishing said trees.

And last but not least, my baby amigurumi monkey. I got bored with him but as I knew I would have to show my desk, it actually spurred me on to finish his limbs (though his is minus a tail), all I need to do now is sew him all together.

I would like to point out that the pattern for the Cowl and the Christmas Trees is from the very talented, lovely Annaboo's House. As ever, a total inspiration.

As I was leaving my desk I looked back and thought "what would these lovely WOYWW'ers think if they could see where my desk sits and all the mess around it. So here goes. SORRY!

...and one last thing, just in case you were wondering what happened to the sock, here it is....

Nearly at that magic 8" mark where I start knitting a bit from one needle, turn it round, knit a bit from another............ Far too complicated to bother about just now.

See you on the desk hop.

  1. Oh I love your post tonight, really great to see the wide angle view too, didn't know your loft area was totally unfinished, looks like a nice winter project for Huffle!! You have been a busy bee, lots on the go, cute sock monkey's, and I love how your sock is turning out, great colours, about to do some more on Andrew's while keeping an eye on the early US election results!

  9. Oooh lots going on this week - I love the monkey finished or not! I have only just taught myself to crochet and am currently surrounded by lots of flowers (I can make four different patterns now!) as I seem to sit and make one or two every evening in front of the telly - no idea what to do with them yet! Love your desk in the middle of that huge room! Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl No. 54

  19. Oh I love that your desk is an oasis in the attic...apart from the plastic, our attic looks the same and there's a tv and a sofa up there!! It's got to be the biggest 'get around to it' job we've ever had!

  22. Ohhhh, lots going on there...that is an enormous room... what a fab room for crafts...it could even be shared for another use as it is so big..,.
Do you have plans to finish it up...It sure wouldn't take much, would it...look like all the basic s things are already done!
My sister had 7 children and when they finally drywalled their play room, she just stained the plywood floor and sealed it with urathane...they used it that way for many years.

  24. Thank you for showing us the whole of that huge space. Are you keeping it all for your crafting or will other things creep in and take some space? Thank you for your visit this week and your suggestions for our nuisances. I actually enjoy the virus people and have learned to really wind them up and waste their time. They seem to have given up on us, thank goodness. Have a good week. xx Maggie #40
