woyww #225 - a pain of a sock

Hello, here I am joining in with What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday. No need to explain, you know all about it by now.

So my desk, back upstairs in the loft.   Unfortunately the light is dimming which is why my lamp is on.

At the front is my new sock. This is a lattice pattern which is fairly easy unless you are good at losing stitches like me and can't count, like me and don't read a pattern properly, like me. Suffice to say this sock has been a real pain in the neck and yet the wool is so soft (Regini Angora Merino). It is a gorgeous cream, well it was. I have knitted and undone about five times already and it has got quite grubby. I am thinking of pulling it all off and starting again too as I have done the pattern on the underside of the sock and I shouldn't have!
Good news though, I did finish my little rag doll and Leftover Leo is all done apart from his scarf.

Well I don't think there is anything else on my desk that is of interest so I will go and have a quick game of football with my Smalls (not my underwear my small boys!!) and then have a look to see what else is happening around the world of lovely scrumptious desks.

P.S. No baking this week, maybe next week.

  1. Oh poor little sock! Hope you get it fixed soon, I have to write down every row of a pattern I complete, otherwise I don't know what row I'm on! My patterns get so messy with lines of numbers written on them and crossed out!! The little rag doll is so beautiful, did you give it to her yet? Bet she loved it. And yes, six of those origami foldy things I've made go together to make a big snowflake!

  9. I have such envy for knitters! I am a beginner crocheter and counting and pattern reading mess me up repeatedly. Looks like your socks will be wonderful when you get them worked out!

Leftover Leo - what a great name! I'm sure he'll look even cuter when he gets his scarf!

Hope your Wednesday is absolutely wonderful!!

  11. Wouldn't the pattern on the underside of the sock be slightly uncomfortable? I think undoing is the only way...sorry....
I am still giggling about the thought of footie in your statues, lol!!

  12. Knitting socks! So envious that you can do this. I am what is known as a basic very slow knitter. I would so love to knit a pair of socks but don't know where to start. One day I will.

Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

  26. Hope that sock goes right soon! How brave of you to show something that is causing you frustration! I'm sure you'll get it right in the end though and soon be able to wear your lovely soft socks! That rag doll is looking adorable! I think you're so clever, as I would love to be able to make characterfull dolls like her! Happy WoYWW! Julie Ann xx #35

  31. Who are we to judge if you want to have a game of football in your underwear. In fact, isn't there some lingerie football league or is that just a hubby fantasy? I feel for your little sock but I'm sure you'll get him sorted out in no time and get him a mate to boot (ooh! a pun!). I love the name Leftover Leo!
