Woyww - a roving

I am joining in with Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday? That means it is Wednesday (in the UK) and people all over the World post photos of their crafty desks. It is very inspirational and quite amazing how many very talented people there are out there in the big world.

My desk.....

On the left is a new sock I made in just two days and it is for me to wear in my snow boots. I needed something think and warm and the cosy work sock was just the thing, plus I can make this one in my sleep now. My boots and black and cream and white so they should go very well. I haven't started the second one yet as I have found a new project to start. I have been asked to crochet a Monkey hat for a child. Watch this space (hopefully).

At the back is green wool and some blue stuff in a bag. This is for my new sock project. It is a thrummed sock and uses a fleece roving in between stitiches to create an almost fleecey lining. They look lovely but I need to go to the technical day for this so will not be knitting past the rib for this one yet.

Next to the green wool is Leftover Leo waiting to be wrapped for Christmas and on the left is my Christmas Stocking that actually looks better now I have blocked it. All handmade presnts have been wrapped and sent apart from the ones for this house. And that's me for today. I apologise for my lateness in replying and commenting on last weeks post. I don't know where the time went.

Nope, no real snow to speak of yet, a few snow showers a couple of weeks ago, we got an inch last Thursday (Thanksgiving) but it really warmed up here yesterday and is above freezing tonight so the last of it has melted. Love the socks for you, nice to finally make something for yourself isn't it? Glad the Xmas stocking turned out better after blocking. The new socks sound very interesting, you're going to need them if it keeps snowing at yours!

Hugs
Brenda

Brilliant, colourful socks! You are so clever! I don't mind how late you are, it's always lovely to hear from you, I'd love to be clever enough to make my own socks for snow-boots. I love the idea of trudging through snow in lovely toasty warm hand-knitted socks! Julie Ann xx #52

What size needles did you use on your sock? I took a sock class and the yarn I chose required a size 2 needle -- needless to say the sock was never finished!

The stocking looks great - but what caught my eye is the felted owl. What a cutie!

Happy belated WOYWW
