Woyww #178 - legless, finished and a limboing monkey!

Hello on this windy Wednesday. Hope none of you are anywhere near this horrible hurricane. It has certainly had an impact on our weather but thankfully nothing like as serious as in New York. So today we check out desks around the world via the WOYWW as hosted by Julia.

My desk was all nice and organised and tidy and I took a photo ..........

Cushion cover (so much trouble that I should have given up when it started to go wrong, but no, I persevere).

Sock, coming along nicely but slowly. New sock monkey (finished waiting for a new home). New balls of wool (just waiting for new project). Radio 1 on the IPad sitting on top of my Granny Blanket.

Sewing machine with one piece of bunting. A new baby monkey I am crocheting.

And I think that is it......

......and then I started doing a bit here and there and before I knew it, it was a right mess. So I thought I would show a during (and in fact after) as I have now left it just as seen above. Can't be doing with tidying up every time.

A pile of buttons as I was looking for just the right ones for the baby monkey's eyes. The cushion cover has been hidden under the IPad. The monkey now has a nose, eyes and one ear. I have no idea what the big monkey is doing, looks like he is limboing, maybe he is showing off in front of new sock monkey.

Right, I am grabbing a gingerbread and a cup of tea and popping round to look at everyone who's number ends the same as mine, plus a few I always visit in the middle, and definitely those who visit me, and if I can fit in any other desks I will certainly try.

I'm sat reading my WOYWW blogs on my sick bed this week but have my mask on so you don't catch anything. I'm enjoying reading what everyone is up to this week [it's better than reading magazines :-) ]. I'm leaving a copied comment so you know I've called by because my hands are too weak and shaky to keep typing out my comments this week.
Big hugs,

Wow, a super-busy desk.Crochet work always looks gorgeous, and your sock monkeys are ace. I use roughly the same visiting system: some regulars, all those who end in the same number as me, then that number +5,everyone who visits me, then a few random if I can get around any more.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #90

My all the colour! It's fab..perfect to beat the storm blues. Am very glad you're out of harm's way. I know it seems like troble, but would it help to know quite how fab that cushion cover is looking?

Popped back in again. Yes those were Canadian geese in the photo from The Lakes. I asked where the sheep were in a most aggrieved tone! Andre said the geese were everywhere now.

Your desk looks brilliant, Famfa - love all the crochet and the wools and buttons and monkeys and things! Especially I like the bunting. One day I shall make some for my ARTHaven but not sure where to put it in my present room - it may be different when we move.

Thanks for your lovely comments and I am glad you like my knitting! As for the unravelling and re-knitting, it was just that I absolutely loved the dress it was in its previous incarnation, and the wool is lovely quality and far too good to throw out, and I couldn't bear to part with it, so making it up into something different is the best solution all round, even if it involves a lot more work. I'm pleased with how it's going so far, anyway. There's a basket of other stuff to be unravelled too!

Things not too bad family wise, thanks for asking - my hubby has seen a solicitor re power of attorney so that is now going through. They've got someone interested in their house but they have their own to sell so we're no further forward really.

Happy WOYWW,

Yum, gingerbread! Very interesting workspace this week. I'm currently trying my hands at crocheting and finding it, um, time consuming? I'm working on a pair of leg warmers for myself with some scrumptious super soft loopy cream colored yarn...mind you, I'm new at this so they probably won't end up matching even, but I'm sure they will be warm! lol Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a sweet comment! :) I wish I could just travel around and help people get organized so their homes would work better for them. Anyways, your projects look great and thanks again for stopping by...Deeyll #60

I love the before and after. I tend to go the other way - show the mess then the tidy, but I love seeing the progress - or progression, maybe better, in either direction.

Happy day-after WOYWW

Fun snoop today watching the monkeys in action. Interesting how big monkey was trying to squeeze back out of the way of the first picture and then, apparently overwhelmed with the aspect of having little monkey in his space, he just collapsed in agony!

Have a great week! Darnell #63
