Woyww #171 - a right bloomin' mess and the wrong day

EDIT : It has just been pointed out to me that it is not even Wednesday yet! DOH!

Hello. Wednesdays mean WOYWW. Sorry I have been AWOL for a week. I haven't done any crafting and no blogging (not on this one anyway) because we had a visitor from England for a week, which was lovely, but my crafting was on hold. Anyway, back now but I have to make a big apology for the state of my desk. I wasn't going to take a photo because I was too embarrassed but what the heck. It's my desk and maybe it will make me tidy it now its on the big ol' net.

I'm not sure if I can explain what all the mess is really. There is a present there for Small from our last visitor. Still the swimming Towels and badges to sew. Tissue paper used for wrapping presents recently. Our tea tray (that's where it went!) with a pile of stuff to put away on it.

....and worse here is my chair.........

No point in telling you anything else. I promise I will tidy it before next week.

I did finish my Russian Doll Key Ring though.....

Meanwhile, I have been shopping in a little consignment shop here. I picked up a lovely Alfred Meakin Gravy Jug.......

And a gorgeous Myott plate.....

The colours are lovely. I can't remember how much they cost but together they were under $15.

Right, off to look at all those lovely tidy desks now around the world.

It's only Tuesday here in the States so for me, you're not that early....

The yarn looks so nice; can't wait to see what you do with it. Also, your Russian doll key chain is lovely.

Also, love the plate! Isn't it great when you find such treasures!

Happy WOYWW

Well I think your desk just proves my pint - if you don't use it as a desk, it gets used to put stuff on to be dealt with later....it's kinda like Mum Central! The key ring is lovely, bet you're pleased with it. And I'm glad you enjoyed the company of a visitor, no better reason for not crafting and better still, not tidying!

Hi Famfa - Love your pottery finds - I have recently started collecting trios so that I can hold a pretty afternoon tea party - all very lady like and a little strange as I don't like tea!! I love the cakes and sandwiches though! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 5

Glad to hear that you had a fab time with your visitors, crafting can go hang in those circumstances!! The key ring is really lovely - I could never do that myself, fat finger syndrome you see!
Love those bargain finds too, especially the plate, very pretty :)

The wool looks like it is ready to be used and the desk is really not that bad at all.
The russian doll key ring is fantastic and you found some real gems on your shopping trip.
Happy WOYWW!

I hope you don't need to sit down in a hurry... it could be painful! I don't think us crafters mind busy mess (unless it belongs to someone else and is in OUR way!) ;-)

It really sounded funny you trying to start a day early, that is the sort of thing that I would do. My excuse is shift work and my days meld together working across 2 days at a time.

I think you have yourself a bargain with the china to $15 for both, gosh the gravy boat is worth more than that alone. A little side line of mine is collecting fine china, I call it my retirement fund, but in retirement I dont think I could sell them ever.

Happy WOYWW or should it be WOYWT LOL
