WOYWW #220 - tidy socks

Hello, it's Wednesday again (well somewhere in the World) and it is the day to show our crafty desks as per the lovely Julia at What's on your Workdesk Wednesday.

A tidy desk this week.

I have been knitting faster than a speeding freight train and finished Huffle's sock on Friday and then quickly started his second one (though I did make the rib without ribbing - arrrggghhhh and had to start again). Still I furiously knitted on and finished sock no2 last night. So you can see Huffle's socks neatly folded at the back with Moo's little Pedicure sock on top. Her second one is at the front of the desk that I started last night.

At the back are two green bags. Each one containing wool, needles and patterns for another sock each. One a cable sock and the other a toe-up sock. Both of them using two circular needles which I haven't learnt yet. Might be interesting.

Various origami things are on my desk, I folded a less than perfect tulip with a stalk that doesn't hold it! I have just been trying to figure out how to fold a many folded many squared marigold in four colours but I cannot work it out. Maybe by next week!

In case you didn't read yesterday's post or want to see a better photo of Huffle's socks. Tadaaaaa.

Not bad eh?

Okay, time to drink my coffee and go and look at everyone's lovely desks to see what they have been, and are up to. Cheerios my lovelies xx

Brilliant new socks for Huffle! Love the three colours, you're very clever. Lovely clean desk and I can't wait to see what's in the green bags, I've heard of both toe up and two at a time but I'm so not ready for that, lol! Hope you get the origami mastered, it looks so pretty.

Hugs
Brenda

Love the socks. Socks are one thing I would love to have a go at knitting but I am not what you would call a natural knitter and keep putting them off.

One day I will begin!

Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good week.

Those are some fabulous socks. Will be great for winter. I can see more than one pair on your desk, too.

Happy WOYWW from # 10.

Yes very nice socks! Very warm looking. The little pedi one is darling. Good luck with the round needles. My Mum always used three/four needles for socks and mittens. The round needles were for afghans. And me.....*grin*...I prefer paint. :) Happy WOYWW! Nan G #1

Those socks are just fabulous! I so wish I could do Origami. I must read up about it. Do you use the special Origami paper for your projects? A dear friend once gave me some, but I don't know what I did with it, as it was about 20 years ago! Have a great WOYWW. Julie Ann #35

As I have said before, my socks would not keep anyone warm as my knitting is always more dropped stitches than knitting! Love what you have made! #46

Oh well done, the socks are splendid. Furious knitting huh..is that because you've suddenly got so much lined up to do? I have never used circular needles but imagine it will take some grappling to begin with!

Great socks! they look wonderful and warm. Circular knitting is SUCH fun - you will soon get the hang of it - no moving needles around the circle of the sock. I knitted a shawl for our grandchildren on circular needles - and it was not too hard (time consuming, as at the outside there were something like 675 stitches in the round - but not hard!) HAVE FUN!!
Have a great week.

Love the warm socks! Great job!

Did I read that right, there's only the materials for one sock in each bag? The mention of circular needles takes me back ... my granny was an expert sock knitter and used 4 needles for circular knitting. I even recall a sock knitting machine she had too. I believe she knitted many pairs of green ones for soldiers at war when she was still a teenager. Have a lovely day. Elizabeth x #47

Lovely socks and I bet they keep Huffle's toes toasty warm. Wish I could get round to finishing the one on my needles before it turns chilly, it's been on there for almost a year now.
