Woyww #157 - two socks and a nudey doll

It's Wednesday (well it is in the UK - not here yet). On my desk this week............

A pack of hot pink wool which I picked up at the Thrifty Store (I am planning to make a crochet monkey with some of it for my niece). A finished "Inky Monkey" and a nearly finished "doll" - I can't give her a name until she has hair and a dress - it wouldn't be right!

A pile of buttons which Small was searching through for eyes for his sock monkey (no I haven't done it yet but I am starting it tonight!). A crochet magazine (as I can now read a pattern thanks to the lovely Annaboo! Or so I thought (that I could read a pattern, not that she wasn't lovely, she is!). I got a bit too confident after making Monkey and Doll and thought I would try one of Annaboo's Christmas Trees (I won some from her in a giveaway and they are amazing). I tried two, one of them is on my desk, not at all Christmas tree looking , more like toadstool looking! However, I will try again.

Anyway, back to the magazine, there is a pattern in there for a Turkish Bracelet with beads on. I love bracelets and I love beads and I love crochet - simple. Let's hope so. I love looking at it but that is all I have done so far!

I have just stamped on a heart stone that I got for Huffle for valentines day at the beach, and then whilst small was rifling through the buttons, his sleeve smudged the ink. AGHH!

Last but not least is the sock monkey to do, with his lovely yellow buttons for eyes. Oh there is a start of a Zentangle too, a leg of Huffle's sock monkey, my sewing box and various books.

Now, I suggest you go and grab a handful of biscuits and a cup, no make it a pot, of tea and have a look at all the other desks that take part in What's on your workdesk Wednesday.

There are so many people that take part in this that I cannot possibly get around all the desks, so my tip is, whatever number I happen to be on the Linky list i.e. #123, I visit all the people ending in the same number ie 3, 13, 23 etc, I'm sure you understand. That way I get to see different people each week. I always pop in to my favourites as well and the people that comment on mine of course. Then if I find I have more time, I go back and do some in between. I know that some people look at every single desk, I even had someone comment on last weeks, today! mad, crazy people!

Love all the busy goings on on your desk this week but what really caught my eye was the Queen cake topper on your previous post - she's fantastic and the corgis made me laugh a lot!! That's really clever of you :)
Jools was AMAZING, the theatre was packed and everyone was dancing. He was rushing off after the show back to London cos he was in the Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace on the Monday! It was kind of Her Maj to share him with us!!

I can't understand a chrochet pattern for love nor money so you're way ahead of me on that one! Love the stones, and don't worry about the smudge just makes it look more homemade. Small has picked some great colours for his sock monkey too.

Hugs

Love you colourful desk and the very cute lime green monkey! I too have my own ritual for picking which desks I visit I close my eyes and wiggle my mouse and see where it takes me! WOYWW Hugs from Helen 105

Wow, talk about busy, busy, busy. Love that heart stone. I think the (very slight) smudge just adds to it's natural charm.

As for visiting people, I generally find myself at the end of the list so then I work my way backwards, then do the people that visited me and then do a random selection throughout the week :)

Good plan, I always visit those I follow anyway then work my way through the list, but if I know I'm not going to get round I randomly dip in and out, but I keep track of where I've been! Take care my WOYWW friend, am still snooping! Zo xx 65

I'm a bit late getting round the WOYWW desks this week - been busy making 3 more little wedding waistcoats. What a fab post here this week and I just love that little queen on the post below!! Have a great week. x Jo

Hi Famfa, thanks for stopping by mine :) No it wasn't a zentangle at the back there. It's a canvas I've started and it's a mixture of stencils and stamps using acrylic paint. It will hopefully turn into a 'Home' canvas now that the mojo is making a reappearance :)

You've been pretty crafty on things these days. But I love the idea that you're not throwing away the old socks and instead use it in different creative ways such as the puppet concept and how easy it is to make. There are also some good ideas you could find on the web on how to recycle those old socks instead of just throwing them away.

I just started crocheting towel toppers, a first for me and with no pattern-very scary, hopefully I will have something to show off next desk journey

Mad crazy person here, although technically I'm not a week late! Ilove the little nudey doll, she looks so cute without hair! I've had my own bad episode with a crochet pattern, I refer you to the elephant I had a go at...enough said. Oh the stone isn't smudged..it's gne organic is all - he'll LOVE it.

Your sock monkeys are gorgeous. Sock monkeys are one of my favourite things in life. No matter what, they make me smile. Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog. Eric, my cat is hysterical! My significant other isn't a cat lover either, but he's been won over by Eric and his kung fu fighting ways! Em x

What a busy gal you are!
So glad you're more confident with following patterns- you'll improve the more you do it, so don't worry.
I think your LOVE stone is a fabulous idea. And I can't see a smudge at all!
