Woyww #120

We are on number 120? Really? I know I haven't been doing this for THAT long but WOW, well done Julia, for keeping this going so well for so long.

Today my desk is not a desk, or my kitchen table, or my picnic rug, oh no, today it is my fireside rug and the hearth. Why? Because I sit on the settee in the evenings to knit or crochet and things just started to spread around me.

My bag of wool. My granny blanket (which I don't think has grown since last week), Mum's knitting needle bag, my workbasket, mario sketches (Small's eighth birthday soon and he wants a Mario cake), my made up knitting pattern, friends teapot and tea cosy (not yet sewn together - watch this space).

Last week I was making a baby bobble hat for a friends baby to be, well I put it down for a few days while I started the tea cosy and when I picked it up I had no idea where I was in the pattern. Doh! So I undid it all and I've started again.

There is also my Mollie makes magazine which I am reading in between knitting.

I would also like to show you some bread that Smallest made at school last week. The teacher bought the dough in and the kids plaited it and baked it. Small and Smallest ate it for their tea. Smallest came out of school on Friday and said - "it's sunday night bread mummy for jewings". He meant Jewish Friday Evening bread. Ahh bless him.

Now it's time for you to check out some proper desks and see what others are doing this Wednesday.

So cool that the teacher has them baking! I love to bring my crafts into the family when I can. Sorry that you had to start the hat over. I thought that all it needed was the blue or pink pom. Oh we11! Good luck with Mario! Happy WOYWW- Amanda

It wasn't quite that close to being finished but I just got completely lost. Note to self. Don't put down your work in the middle and leave it for too long!!

Such a lot of crafting - I've got projects everywhere too. Still lust after your granny blanket and am seriously impressed that you're knitting the tea cosy without a pattern...oooh, scary!!

Can't believe the hat had to be undone, I would have thrown it in the back of the drawer! Love the bread story and great that the teacher is doing things like this too.

What a great teacher! There were only a few teachers I remember well - cause they made a difference and made school interesting and fun! The rest....well, I could probably give you their names but only because they didn't make school fun and interesting.

"Jewings"... oh my... so so funny! My dad laughed when I told him this (being Jewish himself, he found it hilarious!).

Your evening creating by the hearth sounds so perfect... what a wonderful way to spend an evenng.

Hope you've had a wonderful WOYWW!

Awww, so cute -my kids baked bread at school too! It sounds like you have loads of projects on the go!
The Crochet book uses the "English UK" stitches and not the American, however there is a table which indicates the US terminology aswell for reference purposes. Which I find really useful.
You've got to love "Am I a dreamer, am i, am i a dreamer ...."! ;)
